Let’s see Luke 21:11, “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven,” then verse 25. Please note that the scriptures must be understood by comparing one scripture with another on the same theme, and that is exactly what we will aim to do in this endeavor. Christ has told us in Ecclesiastes 1:9 “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” Also in Chapter 3:15 “That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.” He also says, in Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” In Hebrews 13:8, He says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” All of the aforementioned events can be examined via History. In Revelations 6:12, the Bible mentions the Great Lisbon Earthquake of 1755, stating “ And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? In verse 14 when the heaven departed as a scroll, that is speaking of the anticipated second coming of Jesus Christ. The Date was November 1st 1755 when a great portion of the earth was shaken by that earthquake and many souls perished. These events are also spoken of in Luke 21:25-28, which states,” And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. In verse 25, when scripture speaks of the sea and waves roaring, this is talking about Climate change, or global warming, with the sea levels rising. Next, is mentioned that mens hearts will be failing them for fear, terror, or terrorism, and for looking after those things which are to come on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. After these events, verse 27 of Luke 21 says, the second coming of our saviour will take place. Verse 28 tells us “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Verse 31-33 says So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Isaiah 46:9,10 Says, “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” John 13:19 states, “Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.” Luke 21:34-36 gives a warning, “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Watch the signs of the times, watch your heart as in self-examination, and watch for other souls that need to be saved. Verse 37 states “And in the day time he, Christ was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. He abode in the country area, a lesson for us living in these last days. Luke 21:20-22, states “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.” *************************************************************************************************************************************************** This is prep time, and PEP time, Patience, Endurance, and Prayer, put pep in your step with a song.
