Significance of the Three Angels Messages!

The Present Parallels The Past “The work of God in the earth presents, from age to age, a striking similarity in every Great reformation or religious movement. The principles of God’s dealing with men are Ever the same. The important movements of the present have their parallel in those of the past, and the experience of the church in former ages has lessons of great value for our own time.” The Great Controversy, 343. Joel’s Three Histories “The angel who unites in the proclamation of the third angel’s message is to lighten the whole earth with his glory. A work of world-wide extent and unwonted power is here foretold. The advent movement of 1840-44 was a glorious manifestation of the power of God; the first angel’s message was carried to every missionary station in the world, and in some countries there was the greatest religious interest which has been witnessed in any land since the Reformation of the sixteenth century; but these are to be exceeded by the mighty movement under the last warning of the third angel. “The work will be similar to that of the Day of Pentecost.” The Great Controversy, 611. Two Distinct Calls “The prophet says, ‘I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils’ (Revelation 18:1,2). This is the same message that was given by the second angel. Babylon is fallen, ‘because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication’ (Revelation 14:8). What is that wine?---Her false doctrines. She has given to the world a false sabbath instead of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, and has repeated the falsehood that Satan first told Eve in Eden---the natural immortality of the soul. Many kindred errors she has spread far and wide, “teaching for doctrines the commandments of men’ (Matthew 15:9). “When Jesus began His public ministry, He cleansed the Temple from its sacrilegious profanation. Among the last acts of His ministry was the second cleansing of the Temple. So in the last work for the warning of the world, two distinct calls are made to the churches. The second angel’s message is, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication’ (Revelation 14:8). And in the loud cry of the third angel’s message a voice is heard from heaven saying, ‘Come out if her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that he receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities’ (Revelation 18:4,5).” Selected Messages, book 2, 118. All eyes were turned toward Him. Priest and rulers, Pharisee and Gentile, looked with Astonishment and awe upon Him who stood before them with the majesty of heaven’s King. Divinity flashed through humanity, investing Christ with a dignity and glory He had never manifested before. Those standing nearest Him drew as far away as the crowd would permit. Except for a few of His disciples, the Saviour stood alone. Every sound was hushed. The deep silence seemed unbearable. Christ spoke with a power that swayed the people like a mighty tempest: ‘It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.’ His voice sounded like a trumpet through the temple. The displeasure of His countenance seemed like consuming fire. With authority He commanded, ‘Take these things hence.’ John 2:16.” The Desire of Ages, 590. 1840 “The mighty angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and His left upon dry land, shows the part which He is acting in the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan.” The Seventh-day Adventists Bible Commentary, volume7, 971. The First Angel “Jesus commissioned a mighty angel to descend and warn the inhabitants of the earth to prepare for His second appearing. As the angel left the presence of Jesus in heaven, an exceedingly bright and glorious light went before him. I was told that his mission was to lighten the earth with his glory and warn man of the coming wrath of God. Multitudes received the light. Some of these seemed to be very solemn, while others were joyful and enraptured. All who received the light turned their faces toward heaven and glorified God. Though it was shed upon all, some merely came under its influence, but did not heartily receive it. Many were filled with great wrath. Ministers and people united with the vile and stoutly resisted the light shed by the mighty angel. But all who received it withdrew from the world and were closely united with one another.” Early Writings, 245. For this they were to wait before they entered upon their work. When Christ passed within the heavenly gates, He was enthroned amidst the adoration of the angels. As soon as this ceremony was completed, the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in rich currents, and Christ was indeed glorified, even with the glory which He had with the father from all eternity. The Pentecostal outpouring was Heaven’s communication that the Redeemer’s inauguration was accomplished. If this prophecy of Joel met a partial fulfillment in the days of the apostles, we are living in a time when it is to be even more evidently manifest to the people of God. The Lord was at work in His own way; but had there been such a manifestation among us, upon whom the ends of the world are come, would not some have mocked, as on that occasion? Those who did not come under the influence of the Holy Spirit knew it not. This process is most trying to the soul, but it is necessary in order that defilement may be removed. Trials are essential in order that we may be brought close to our heavenly father, in submission to his will, that we may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. God’s work of refining and purifying the soul must go on until his servants are so humbled, so dead to self, that when called into active service, they may have an eye single to the glory of God.” Review and Herald, April 10, 1894. Consider The Cleansing Of The Temple “We are not to drift into worldly channels. Consider the cleansing of the temple at the beginning of Christ’s ministry, and at the close of his life, his personal labors in the guise of humanity. Whom did he find intent on gain? The Jews had made the courts of the temple a scene of sacrilegious traffic. They had turned the ancient and sacred institution of the Passover into a means of vile profit. They bartered deep, turning the once sacred service instituted by Christ himself, into a worship of mammon. But Christ came suddenly into the temple courts; divinity flashed through humanity, and raising a whip of small cords in his hands, with a voice that they will hear again in the execution of the judgment, he said, ‘Take these things hence.’ ‘It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.’ These priests and rulers saw as it were an avenging angel with flaming sword, such as guarded the way to the tree of life. “Today this sacrilegious work is being more than repeated. There will be messages borne; and those who have rejected the messages God has sent, will hear most startling declarations. The Holy Spirit will invest the announcement with a sanctity and solemnity which will appear terrible in the ears of those who have heard the pleadings of infinite love, and have not responded to the offers of pardon and forgiveness. Injured and insulted Deity will speak, proclaiming the sins that have been hidden. As the priest and rulers, full of indignation and terror, sought refuge in flight at the last scene of the cleansing of the temple, so will it be in the work for these last days. The woes that will be pronounced upon those that have had light from heaven, and yet did not heed it, they will feel, but will have no power to act. This is represented in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. They cannot obtain a character from the wise virgins, and they have no oil of grace to discern the clear light or to accept it. I tell you in truth, the Lord is about to turn and overturn in the institutions called by His name. “Just how soon this refining process will begin I cannot say, but it will not be long deferred. He whose fan is in His hand will cleanse His temple of its moral defilement. He will thoroughly purge His floor. God has a controversy with all who practice the least injustice; for in so doing they reject the authority of God and imperil their interest in the atonement, the redemption which Christ has undertaken for every son and daughter of Adam. Will it pay to take a course abhorrent to God? Will it pay to put upon your censers strange fire to offer before God, and say it makes no difference ?” Testimonies to Ministers, 372-373. A Message Which Is A Two-Edged Sword “The words of the Lord in Malachi 3:1-3 lay down the work essential to be done in the church. Of God: ‘Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of Hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.’ A message which is as a two-edged sword must be given to the people, to clear away the evils that are seen among them. A living testimony that will awaken the paralyzed conscience is to be borne.” Review and Herald, December 1, 1896. By The Words Of Truth “ ‘Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the garner.’ Matthew 3:12. This was one of the times of purging. By the words of truth, the chaff was being separated from the wheat. Because they were too vain and self-righteous to receive reproof, too world-loving to accept a life of humility, many turned away from Jesus. Many are still doing the same thing. Souls are tested today as were those disciples in the synagogue at Capernaum. When truth is brought home to the heart, they see that their lives are not in accordance with the will of God. They see the need of an entire change in themselves; but they are not willing to take up the self-denying work. Therefore they are angry when their sins are discovered. The third angel proclaims his warning with a loud voice. ‘After these things,’ said John, ‘I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power, and the earth was lightened with his glory.’ In this illumination, the light of all the three messages is combined.” The 1888 Materials, 804. Prophetic Angels “I have had precious opportunities to obtain an experience. I have had an experience in the first, second, and third angels’ messages. The angels are represented as flying in the midst of heaven, proclaiming to the world a message of warning, and having a direct bearing upon the people living in the last days of this earth’s history. No one hears the voice of these angels, for they are a symbol to represent the people of God who are working in harmony with the universe of heaven. Men and women, enlightened by the Spirit of God, and sanctified through the truth, proclaim the three messages in their order.” Life Sketches, 429 “John saw ‘Another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the whole earth was lightened with his glory.’ Revelation 18:1. There cannot be a third without the first and second. Our Shut Door Message (Two Doors Shut) “There was a shut door in Noah’s day. There was at that time a withdrawal of the Spirit of God from the sinful race that perished in the waters of the Flood. God Himself gave the shut-door message to Noah: ‘My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” (Genesis 6:3). “There was a shut door in the days of Abraham. Mercy ceased to plead with the inhabitants of Sodom, and all but Lot, with his wife and two daughters, were consumed by fire sent down from heaven. There was a shut door in Christ’s day. The Son of God declared to the unbelieving Jews of that generation, ‘Your house is left unto you desolate’ (Matthew 23:38). “Looking down the stream of time to the last days, the same infinite power proclaimed through John: ‘These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth’ (Revelation 3:7). “ I was shown in vision, and I still believe, that there was a shut door in 1844. All who saw the light of the first and second angels’ messages and rejected that light, were left in darkness. And those who accepted it and received the Holy Spirit which attended the proclamation of the message from heaven, and who afterward renounced their faith and pronounced their experience a delusion, thereby rejected the Spirit of God, and it no longer pleaded with them. “Those who did not see the light, had not the guilt of its rejection. It was only the class who had despised the light from heaven that the Spirit of God could not reach. And this class included, as I have stated, both those who refused to accept the message when it was presented to them, and also those who, having received it, afterward renounced their faith. These might have a form of godliness, and profess to be followers of Christ; but having no living connection with God, they would be taken captive by the delusions of Satan. These two classes are brought to view in the vision---those who declared the light which they had followed a delusion, and the wicked of the world who, having rejected the light, had been rejected of God. The Judgment Message Christ and The Millerites “The experience of the disciples who preached the ‘gospel of the kingdom’ at the first advent of Christ, had its counterpart in the experience of those who proclaimed the message of His second advent. As the disciples went out preaching, ‘The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand,’ so Miller and his associates proclaimed that the longest and last prophetic period brought to view in the Bible was about to expire, that the judgment was at hand, and the everlasting kingdom was to be ushered in. The preaching of the disciples in regard to time was based on the seventy weeks of Daniel 9. The message given by Miller and his associates announced the termination of the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14, of which the seventy weeks form a part. The preaching of each was based upon the fulfillment of a different portion of the same great prophetic period.” The Great Controversy, 351. 8 ************************************************************************************************************************************** The 144,000 “Our own course of action will determine whether we shall receive the seal of the living God or be cut down by the destroying weapons. The decree has been passed by the highest earthly authority that they shall worship the beast and receive his mark under pain of persecution and death. The nearer the soul comes to God, the more completely is it humbled and subdued. When Job heard the voice of the Lord out of the whirlwind, he exclaimed, ‘I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.’ It was when Isaiah saw the glory of the Lord and heard the cherubim crying, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of host,’ that he cried out, ‘Woe is me, for I am undone!’ Daniel, when visited by the holy messenger, says, ‘My comeliness was turned in me to corruption.’ Paul, after he was caught up into the third Heaven and heard things that it was not lawful for a man to utter, speaks of himself as ‘less than the least of all saints.’ It was the beloved John, that leaned on Jesus’ breast, and beheld his glory, who fell as one dead before the angel. In the teachings of the prophets, His love for the lost race and His plan for their salvation are clearly revealed. The story of Israel’s call, of their success and failures, of their restoration to divine favor, of their rejection of the Master of the vineyard, and of the carrying out of the plan of the ages by a goodly remnant to whom are to be fulfilled all the covenant promises—this has been the theme of God’s messengers to His church throughout the centuries that have passed. And today God’s message to His church—to those who are occupying His vineyard as faithful husbandmen—is none other than that spoken through the prophet of old: ‘Sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine. All Christians need to Awake out of Sleep and follow Christ!

This is the anti-typical Day of Atonement, and our High Priest is in the Most Holy of the Heavenly sanctuary performing the Investigative judgment. We need to seriously rid ourselves of any idol, by truly afflicting our souls via self-reflection, and self-examination. Idols may be anything that is not of God, animate, or inanimate, and they may be anything that take up our time and prevents us from spending time with God. Sorcery, we may deny, but this definition should open our eyes. Pastor Ivor Myers, says that sorcery is “anything that medicates the mind, so that it cannot, or will not follow the Law or the Will of God.” As Christians, we are to follow Christ in all things. My flesh is sinful, and I recognize now, that my affinity for competitive sports, emulation, for all these years, is of the devil. The thirty three years, and a half, that Christ spent here on this earth, were spent in doing the will of his Father. The last three and a half years, He spent, healing the sick, ministering, and teaching, the Way of Salvation. Do we read of Christ ever having a pick-up game of beach volleyball, football, soccer, or basketball, with His disciples? Why not? Simply, because, He was the sinless Son of God. In these sports games, there is faking, lying, pretending, and overall deception, which is of satan. Galatians 5:19-21., states, “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Revelations 22:15., we find these words, “For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” I plan to be within the City of God, how about you? We must pray for forgiveness of all sin, and everything that is contrary to God. We must confess these evils and repent, and most of all forsake these ills, through the power of Jesus Christ. We must pray for the power of the Holy Spirit, to cleanse us and cause us to view these things as detrimental poisons to our soul salvation. Let us Pray to this end, that we might at last, be saved in Gods Kingdom. AMEN!

Gods Eight Laws of Health, His Statutes!

When it comes to health and wellness, there are some simple guidelines we have been given by God, which if we follow, will help us retain our health and keep us fit for life and fit as Gods temple. We will discuss these further and in greater depth in future postings. To be more specific, it is known as "Gods Plan". The G represents, Trust God, or Godly Trust. The O represents, Open Air. The D represents, Daily Exercise.The S represents, Sunshine. The P represents, Proper Rest. The L represents, Lots of Water . The A represents, Always Temperate. The N represents, Nutrition. Gods Plan for man from the beginning was that man should be in health and free of sickness and disease, He even created man in His own Image, perfect. God had a plan that if man would obey and follow His plan, would allow man to be free from disease and illness and live a happy healthy stress free life. Gods Plan will be sketched out in the next several blog posts.

After Adam and Eve sinned, God cursed the ground and now that some six thousand years have passed, the earth and the animals are polluted and diseased and many people are realizing that animal flesh is no longer the best means of getting protein. Disease is rampant in man and beast, the waters are also polluted as well as the creatures of the waters. We have been warned that a time would come when it would not be prudent to eat animal flesh due to the many pollutants and diseases among animals, and the environment.

Men today approach Gods word and His Testimony as good writing by some good men which are largely suggestions which may be taken if one chooses to. But on the other hand, if you choose not to, is no problem. This is the reason for so many of the societal problems, and the health and wellness issues so many people have these days. The majority of people follow a very small portion of Gods word and leave the main part of the Bible for some other person to follow, as though it has nothing vital for them.

God instructed man as to what he should eat way back in the Garden of Eden, see Genesis 1:29. After Adam and Eve sinned, God cursed the ground and told man that he would eat the herb of the field in sorrow, all the days of his life. Vegetables and herbs were introduced, see Genesis 3:18, but after God destroyed the vegetation by the flood, man was permitted to eat flesh foods, animals. God gave instruction that man should never eat FAT or BlOOD, the two things that make meat taste good, so I am told. Reference Leviticus 3:17, also Lev.7:23-27. These instructions were for our ancestors, and since God never changes, these instructions are also for us today. See Malachi 3:6, and Hebrews 13:8. As long as men continue to transgress Gods word, his Law, man will have to suffer the consequences. Life span will be shortened and illnesses will exist. The Bible states "the wages of sin is death", Romans 6:23.

Gods desire is simple and stated in third John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” We should believe the Bible and follow the counsel because John 3:18 states that “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." Leviticus 19:12 states, “And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord”. See also James 5:12, which states “But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation”. May God Bless the reader as we come into a better understanding of His will for our lives.

Godly Trust is trust beyond our simple thought patterns. We must trust God more than we trust humanity.

 Psalms 115:11 says “Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield”, verse 13 “He will bless them that fear the Lord both small and great”. In Revelations 14:6,7, we read “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
 If we are to live healthy, Godly lives, we must put our faith and belief, trust and obedience in the Word of God. The Bible says that a man who trusts man, will come to ruin.

Psalms 115:14, says “The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children”. Verse 15-17 says “Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth. The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence”.

We put a lot of faith and trust in man each day, but do we trust God? Think about the way we each hurl our bodies down a stretch of roadway at 60 miles per hour, passing cement post and other objects that could kill us instantly, if we struck them. We are riding in man made machinery, that could fail at any time. We trust in many machines that are made by other mistake prone human beings, like the elevators, roller coasters, airplanes, ships and even household products on a daily basis, we also trust zip lines and bungy cords. We must put our trust, faith and belief, in the God of Heaven and earth.

  Genesis 2:17 says “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” The earth was cursed by God when man disobeyed and sinned and man began to die along with everything that is on the earth. Isaiah 26:4 says “Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JE-HOVAH is everlasting strength”. In Matthew 25:41 the Bible says “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels”. If we trust God, we can be on His right hand side, and live healthy lives here on this earth and be preparing for the lives we will be privileged to live Eternally.

  Proverbs 28:25-27 says “He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat. He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.”
  We have to believe Gods word and live by Gods instruction. May God richly bless as we learn to trust Him more fully. God has our best interest at heart and He loves us and desires that none of the human family receive the fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Open Air

  Genesis 1:6,7  “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.  And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament:  and it was so”.

 

 God created the firmament, the air, the atmosphere, the heavens, and He intended for us to breathe clean, fresh, pure air, to sustain our bodies and keep us healthy.  Looking at the previous Bible text quoted above, many people don’t believe the historical revelation of the flood, but the text painly states that in the beginning of creation, there was a lot of water that God separated and placed the heavens, the air, the firmament, inbetween.  I have driven Highway 138 in San Bernardino, California, and at the lower portion of the 138, it is very evident that a lot of water rushed through that area and marked the mountain rocks.  I was also told by hikers that were near the summit of the mountain range near that location, that they saw sea shells imbedded high in those mountains.

 

Genesis 2:7 says “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of  life; and man became a living soul.”

 We see that man became alive when God gave man breath, air, the soul came to life.

Revelations 16:3 says “And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea;  and it became as the blood of a dead man:  and every living soul died in the sea.”

 Here is shown that all creatures that God created are called souls, whether they are on earth or in the sea.  They were given breath by God.

Genesis 7:21,22 speaking about the flood, says “And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of foul, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man; all in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.”  Evidently, we have the same breath as the animals.

 Ecclesiastes 3:19 says “As the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no pre-eminence above a beast; for all is vanity.”

    The air we breathe, can help us remain disease free, or it can contribute to illness, and death. We are advised to take several deep breaths of fresh air every morning upon waking,   as the air is fresh prior to rush hour traffic and factory exhaust.  We are also advised to keep a flow of air in the home while we sleep, having some windows open if not the windows in the room we are sleeping.  Think about the people who choose to poison themselves and their close associates by smoking cigarettes, and cigars. The smoke, carbon monoxide and poisons inhaled, compete with the clean, pure oxygen, (02) breathed in, to be carried throughout the body for nourishment and to assist the vital organs in waste elimination. Our environment is already so polluted that additional poisons taken into the body can only cause a more rapid decline in health and proper bodily functions.
   

Job 27:3,4 says “All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils; My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.”  When one of Gods creatures dies, since God had loaned them breath, that breath return to God from whence it came and mans flesh returns to the ground.

 Ecclesiastes 12:7 says” Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”  

   

We need to daily, breathe in vast quantities of fresh air, unpolluted air from an open environment. We have been counseled to leave the hustle and polluted noise of the cities for more quitetude. In the rural areas we are more susceptible to the voice of God.  He speaks through nature.  We may find this really difficult, if we are crowded up in a large metropolitan area. Fresh air with the greatest quantities of oxygen is most likely found away from the large cities, and this air will fill the lungs with purified firmament thus cleansing the blood and assisting all bodily functions. The early mornings are the best times to take deep inspiration in the clean, fresh, unpolluted air. We need the Godly trust to assist us in breathing the fresh air as we should.

Daily Exercise

Genesis 2:15  States “And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”

 In the Hebrew, the root word for dress is to work, to serve, to till the ground, or exercise labor.
     We must exercise daily to maintain our health and be fit vessels as we are temples of the Living God.   God placed Adam in the garden of Eden as the verse states, so that he would daily maintain the beauty of the garden, and so that he would get regular exercise in the open air. This exercise does several things for the human body.  Christ, our example also got regular, daily, exercise.

  Luke 13:33 states “Nevertheless I must walk to day, and  tomorrow, and the day following:  for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem”.

                     

Exercise tones muscles and blood vessels, keeping them strong and working well,  instead of weak and flabby.  Exercise also firms our tissues and often causes a reduction in the blood pressure. Exercise strengthens the heart muscle, improves  digestion, increases efficiency of the lungs and the number of blood cells. Exercise gives added protection to assist the body defenses against disease. Exercise also helps us sleep better, think more clearly and strengthens the will, builds endurance and helps control the body weight. Walking is one of the absolute best exercises and we should do it daily as our Lord also walked daily. There are many forms of exercise and a person must choose the exercise that best suits the individual, their health, body make-up and desire. Always consult your healthcare professional prior to starting an exercise regime.

This is a most fantastic form of exercise and I highly recommend it as I also use this form of exercise in my own life. It is called rebounding and can be done in small windows of time.

 Exercise is one of the Eight Health Laws and if done properly, will enhance the performance of the human machinery. Exercise will cause a beneficial effect upon all other areas of life, especially the mental and emotional wellbeing. When a regular exercise regime is carried out, the person is generally happier and more healthy, rested and less stressed.  Also the weight is better controlled and the diet and appetite are healthier. Many times people complain about not having time to dedicate to an exercise program that takes two to three hours per week, as well as having the energy to devote to that exercise program after working hard on a job forty hours per week.  There are some simple solutions to help with that dilemma. SUNSHINE

 God created two great lights, the sun to rule the day and the moon by night.  Genesis 1:14-18 says “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days years:  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.  And God made two great lights; the greater to rule the day, and the lesser to rule the night: he made the stars also.  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.”  God gave the sunlight for our daily use, to keep our bodies healthy and fit.  Sunshine equals Heat and Light.  On Earth, sunlight is filtered through the earth’s atmosphere, and solar radiation is obvious as daylight when the Sun is above the horizon. We must be cautious even on very overcast, cloudy days, because it is still very easy to obtain sunburns on cloudy days as certain of the suns rays penetrate the clouds and are absorbed by the skin. You have heard that people who live in cool, rainy, dreary, climates, such as Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, are more depressed and often are likely to deal with feelings of suicide, more often than someone who lives in an area with abundant sunshine. Science confirms the benefits of daily sun exposure, but too much sunlight can cause harmful effects. If you have a high fat diet and get too much sunlight, skin cancer can result. Approximately one hour per day is adequate, and the hours of 9:30AM to 10:00AM and 3:00PM to 3:30PM are good hours generally, depending on the seasons. The body absorbs vitamin D from the Sunlight and it helps to lower the bodies blood cholesterol level, it also increases the white blood cell count which are the defense mechanism for the body. Sunlight also helps to lower the pulse or heart rate and blood pressure at the same time strengthening the heart. Blood oxygen levels are also increased by sunlight. Human health is greatly improved by getting regular exposure to Gods great light.

“Exercise, and a free use of the air and sunlight, would give life and strength to many an emaciated invalid.” Our Night Calling, p.223

“We may be cheerful.  God does not want any sour faces on this ground; the Lord does not want anyone in gloom and sadness; He wants you to lift up your countenance to Him, and let Him just pour upon it the brightness of the light of the Sun of Righteousness.”  Manuscript 42, 1894.

“If you would have your homes sweet and inviting, make them bright with air and sunshine. Remove your heavy curtains, open the windows, and throw back the blinds, and enjoy the rich sunlight, even if it be at the expense of the colors of your carpets.” 2Testimonies, p.527

“Life in the open air is good for body and mind.  It is God’s medicine for the restoration of health.  Pure Air, good water, sunshine, the beautiful surroundings of nature—these are His means for restoring the sick to health in natural ways.  To the sick it is worth more than silver and gold to lie in the sunshine or in the shade of the trees.” –7 Testimonies, p.85

“Face the Light.--I will Not allow my mind to dwell on the dark side.  Jesus has light and comfort and hope and joy for me.  I want to face the light, that the brightness of the Sun of Righteousness may shine into my heart, and be reflected to others. It is the duty of every Christian to shine—to shed abroad the light of the grace that Christ imparts.  God would have me,  even in my pain, praise Him, showing that I realize that His presence is with me”.  (Romans 5:1;  1John 5:11 quoted.)—Manuscript 19, 1892.

Proper Rest

Genesis 2:1-3  “  Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

Gen 2:2  And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Gen 2:3  And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made”.

     We need proper rest on a daily basis, as it is essential to healthful living. God is our example in all things and it is clear that He rested after his labors were complete as presented to us in the Bible. We were created to work for a period of time and then our bodies require rest in order to rebuild and restore so that we can continue our labors and remain healthy temples for the living God.  Rest is necessary for us as it was for God, and He designed us to work and rest as He is our example in all things. In order for us to receive proper rest, we must follow Gods instruction which is laid out plainly in the Bible, and the Bible should be our instruction guide to healthful living.

      We read in Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exo 20:9  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exo 20:10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exo 20:11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it”.

God has instructed us as to when we are to work, He says six days are we to work, as he also worked, Sunday the first day of the week, thru Friday the sixth day of the week, then He rested the Seventh day which is the sabbath of the Lord thy God.  God rested after creation week on the Sabbath, He also rested in the tomb on the sabbath after being crucified, and rose early on Sunday morning and returned to work.  The earth is a practice field for the next life where those who have followed Gods instruction will have the priveledge to reign or live in the many mansions in His fathers house.  Isaiah 66:22,23 says

“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

Isa 66:23  And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.”

   When we rest as God has instructed us on a weekly basis, following His law and word on a daily basis, we have marvelous rest daily and especially on the Sabbath day, the day God blessed and sanctified, or set aside as Holy.

    Rest helps the body fight off invaders, such as bacteria and viruses that would leave us incapable of functioning at optimal health.  The best hours for sleep and rest are 9:00PM to  6:00AM,  and we should make it a habit to form a regular sleeping pattern. The hours from 9:00PM to 12:00AM provide excellent assistance to the body systems for restoration and rebuilding as the brain releases the seratonin which aids in restoring the immune system and assists other organ systems with the repair of the damage done by the days activity. Sleeping an hour, two or three, between 9 and 12AM provides twice the actual time in restful sleep to our bodies, and these are critical hours. Drugs for sleep assistance should be avoided. Melatonin is a natural sleep aid which is sold in health food stores and can assist the body to get rest in preparation for the brain releasing seratonin. Always consult your healthcare professional and read the labels prior to taking natural or man made chemicals.  Adequate physical activity during the day will cause a relaxing of the muscle tension, and will increase the natural hormones that act as tranquilizers to aid the body getting rest. If we follow Gods instruction, we can have peace and obtain the rest our bodies require.  May God bless this endeavor.

Num 20:2  And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

Exo 17:3  And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?  The Bible shows the necessity and importance of water.

Exo 30:20  When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:   Washing the body outside and inside by consumption is vital.

Exo 30:21  So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

1Ki 18:4  For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

Joh 7:37  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Joh 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Rev 21:6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 22:1  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

 Plenty of fresh water is needed by the body to flush all the impurities and poisons our organ systems create.  Our body is 75% to 85% water, brain and all so we need copious amounts of water regularly flowing and being filtered, filtering through our systems.  We need to drink half of our body weight in ounces of water per day, and it should be drunk 45 minutes to an hour before a meal, or 45 minutes to an hour after a meal, but not with the meal. Your digestive enzymes and stomach acids need to be at full strength to assist in proper digestion. This means that if you weigh 160 LBS, you should be drinking 80 ounces of water daily for optimal health. When a person is admitted to the hospital, one of the first things done is that IV solutions are given to more adequately hydrate the body.

    “There is no reason in science or philosophy why an occasional bath, taken with studious care, should do you anything but real good. Especially is this the case where there is but little exercise to keep the muscles in action and to aid the circulation of the blood through the system. Bathing frees the skin from the accumulation of impurities which are constantly collecting, and keeps the skin moist and supple, thereby increasing and equalizing the circulation.  {3T 69.4}  

     Persons in health should on no account neglect bathing. They should by all means bathe as often as twice a week. Those who are not in health have impurities of the blood, and the skin is not in a healthy condition. The multitude of pores, or little mouths, through which the body breathes become clogged and filled with waste matter. The skin needs to be carefully and thoroughly cleansed, that the pores may do their work in freeing the body from impurities; therefore feeble persons who are diseased surely need the advantages and blessings of bathing as often as twice a week, and frequently even more than this is positively necessary. Whether a person is sick or well, respiration is more free and easy if bathing is practiced. By it the muscles become more flexible, the mind and body are alike invigorated, the intellect is made brighter, and every faculty becomes livelier. The bath is a soother of the nerves. It promotes general perspiration, quickens the circulation, overcomes obstructions in the system, and acts beneficially on the kidneys and urinary organs. Bathing helps the bowels, stomach, and liver, giving energy and new life to each. It also

promotes digestion, and instead of the system's being weakened it is strengthened. Instead of increasing the liability to cold, a bath, properly taken, fortifies against cold because the circulation is improved and the uterine organs, which are more or less congested, are relieved; for the blood is brought to the surface, and a more easy and regular flow of the blood through all the blood vessels is obtained.”    {3T 70.1}   Men should bath more as bathing would assist in relieving some of the conjestion in the prostate, and many men are suffering from prostate conditions.

 Water is very necessary to sustain life and in the Bible, Christ stated, while speaking to the woman at the well, "Whosoever drinketh of this (well) water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:13,14. All who believe Gods word will talk about him and share his Truth with other people. May Gods word strengthen you all.

Always Temperate

TEMPERANCE; Abstemiousness, the term abstinence are all words relating to the same thing within the walk of life. Abstemiousness and temperance simply mean doing things in moderation, whatever it may be. Abstinence means leaving those things alone which are harmful or hurtful to our bodies, or someone else. Back to temperance, with regards to eating, drinking or having the sexual relation within the marriage relationship, all things should be done in moderation. We must remember that Christ was the epitomy of temperate and as our example, we are to emulate Him in all that we do and say.

       1Corinthians 9:25 says, "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things."

    On the contrary, we can also live intemperate lives and cause adverse affects upon our bodies and minds from such unhealthful practices as overeating, indulgences of to much exercise, or other activities, which can even endanger our very lives. We heard not long ago of a woman who was competing in a radio station promotional campaign and drank excessive amounts of water without using the restroom and died as a result of water intoxication or just to much fluid in her body. Too much of a good thing can be harmful to our bodies.

     Most of us have experienced the pain from lactic acid build up in a certain muscle group, after excessive exercise repetitions, this can be very painful and the adverse effects can last several days. This may cause a person to relinquish an exercise program altogether. The message here is that we must do all things in moderation so that we will be considered fit vessels for the one who is our Maker and Redeemer, Christ Jesus, who states he will live in us.

“Physical health is maintained by that which we eat; if our appetites are not under the control of a sanctified mind, if we are not temperate in all our eating and drinking, we shall not be in a state of mental and physical soundness to study the word with a purpose to learn what saith the Scripture --what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Any unhealthful habit will produce an unhealthful condition in the system, and the delicate, living machinery of the stomach will be injured, and will not be able to do its work properly. The diet has much to do with the disposition to enter into temptation and commit sin.”  {CD 52.2}

“Educate, Educate, Educate.--We must educate, educate, educate, pleasantly and intelligently. We must preach the truth, pray the truth, and live the truth, bringing it, with its gracious, health-giving influences, within the reach of those who know it not. As the sick are brought into touch with the Life-giver, their faculties of mind and body will be renewed. But in order for this to be, they must practice self-denial, and be temperate in all things. Thus only can they be saved from physical and spiritual death, and restored to health.”  {Ev 528.1} 

“You must hold fast to those whom you are trying to help, else victory will never be yours. They will be continually tempted to evil. Again and again they will be almost overcome by the craving for strong drink; again and again they may fall; but do not, because of this, cease your efforts.”  {MH 173.2} 

    “ They have decided to make an effort to live for Christ; but their will power is weakened, and they must be carefully guarded by those who watch for souls as they that must give an account. They have lost their manhood, and this they must win back. Many have to battle against strong hereditary tendencies to evil. Unnatural cravings, sensual impulses, were their inheritance from birth. These must be carefully guarded against. Within and without, good and evil are striving for the mastery. Those who have never passed through such experiences cannot know the almost overmastering power of appetite or the fierceness of the conflict between habits of self-indulgence and the determination to be temperate in all things. Over and over again the battle must be fought.”  {MH 173.3}

. May we all seek to do all things in moderation according to Gods will.

Nutrition

  “Gen 1:29  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”

Proper Nutrition
Most people are concerned about their health, some are more interested in health than others, but generally all people want to know how to be more healthy.  Very close to the beginning of the Bible are the instruction for the diet of a healthy human being. Herbs bearing seeds, and trees that have fruit giving seeds, these are to be the food of those healthy individuals, who will be suffering less of the diseases most common to man, especially as the Earth now groans with its resources depleted more than ever before in history.

    “The transformation of food into good blood is a wonderful process, and all human beings should be intelligent upon this subject. In order that the digestive fluids may be called into action, and the saliva becomes mixed with the food, the teeth must do their work carefully and thoroughly. Each organ of the body gathers its nutrition to keep its different parts in action. The brain must be supplied with its share, the bone with its portion. The great Master Builder is at work every  moment, supplying every muscle and tissue, from the brain to the end of the fingers and toes, with life and strength.”  {3MR 307.4} 

     “Day by day the human structure performs its work under the great Master Architect, who superintends every function of the body, seeking to make it into a glorious temple for Himself.”--Letter 17, 1895.  {3MR 308.1}

     Health experts say that the more closely our diet and appetites ally themselves to these precepts, the more we will enjoy health and physical vitality. On the other hand, if we are careless regarding the food stuffs we partake of, we may suffer dire consequences, illness and even death in some instances. I had a classmate, some years ago and he is no longer living due to the very thing we are talking about. I had an opportunity the talk with him prior to his demise, and although he was ill and receiving treatment for a very aggressive type of brain cancer, he wanted to live and return to health, but it was very late in his case.  He told me that he was divorced and did not cook, nor did he eat any vegetables or fruit, nuts or grains. He stated that he ate hamburgers and french fries, fried chicken and popcorn for snacks, and this would change ever so slightly from day to day. He worked in the inner city and would visit small fast food restaurants for his meals. My hope is that some of you will see, that we can poison ourselves if we do not eat as God has designed us, and instructed us to eat. We are built in His Image, after His likeness. This is very simple, but we can complicate everything by doing what we want.  

Remember that Lev. 3:17 says  “It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.”

                                              Our wants usually get us in trouble, sick, diseased, or dead.  The writer of many of these quotes says that cheese was never fit for human consumption as it is generally 98% FAT, and we were instructed to eat no FAT in Gods Word, The Bible also states this; in the book of 3John 2, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." Gods desire is that we be in health and prosper, because He loves us and wants the best for us, besides, what good is it if we prosper and be in ill health or dead?

    “The idea that women, because of their special condition, may let the appetite run riot is a mistake based on custom, but not on sound sense. The appetite of women in this condition may be variable, fitful, and difficult to gratify; and custom allows her to have anything she may fancy, without consulting reason as to whether such food can supply nutrition for her body and for the growth of her child. The food should be nutritious, but should not be of an exciting quality. . . . If ever there is need of simplicity of diet and special care as to the quality of food eaten, it is in this important period.”  {AH 257.2} 

    “ Women who possess principle, and who are well instructed, will not depart from simplicity of diet at this time of all others. They will consider that another life is dependent upon them and will be careful in all their habits  and especially in diet. They should not eat that which is innutritious and exciting, simply because it tastes good. There are too many counselors ready to persuade them to do things which reason would tell them they ought not to do. Diseased children are born because of the gratification of appetite by the parents”. . . .  {AH 257.3} 

     “If so much food is taken into the stomach that the digestive organs are compelled to overwork in order to dispose of it and to free the system from irritating substances, the mother does injustice to herself and lays the foundation of disease in her offspring. If she chooses to eat as she pleases and what she may fancy, irrespective of consequences, she will bear the penalty, but not alone. Her innocent child must suffer because of her indiscretion.”  {AH 258.1} 

     “Self-control and Temperance Are Necessary.--The mother's physical needs should in no case be neglected. Two lives are depending upon her, and her wishes should be tenderly regarded, her needs generously supplied. But at this time above all others she should avoid, in diet and in every other line, whatever would lessen physical or mental strength. By the command of God Himself she is placed under the most solemn obligation to exercise self-control.”  {AH 258.2} 

     “The basis of a right character in the future man is made firm by habits of strict temperance in the mother prior to the birth of her child. . . . This lesson should not be regarded with indifference.”  {AH 258.3} 

    “Is it now time that all should aim to dispense with flesh foods? How can those who are seeking to become pure, refined, and holy, that they may have the companionship of heavenly angels, continue to use as food anything that has so harmful an effect on soul and body? How can they take the life of God's creatures that they may consume the flesh as a luxury? Let them, rather, return to the wholesome and delicious food given to man in the beginning.”  {CG 383.1} 

     “The Course of Those Awaiting Christ's Coming.-- Among those who are waiting for the coming of the Lord, meat eating will eventually be done away; flesh will cease to form a part of their diet. We should ever keep this end in view and endeavor to work steadily toward it. I cannot think that in the practice of flesh eating we are in harmony with the light which God has been pleased to give us.”  {CG 383.2} 

     “Back to God's Design.--Again and again I have been shown that God is bringing His people back to His original design, that is, not to subsist on the flesh of dead animals. He would have us teach people a better way. . . . If meat is discarded, if the taste is not educated in that direction, if a liking for fruits and grains is encouraged, it will soon be as God in the beginning designed it should be. No meat will be used by His people.”
